Use a little bit of good white toothpaste over the deeply scatched areas. Let it dry and fill in the gashes, then with a cloth, buff it out in the morning from inside the disc outwards.
You might be able to use a NEC or similar DVD-ROM drive to extract the contents and re-burn the disc, as a last resort.

If you already have it fix, then further repair won't be necessary, DVDs as well as CD's have a higher resistance to scratches that are not that deep, run it and if it doesn't respond the way is supposed to take it back where you have it serviced for further assistance

ive heard that a small amount or regular toothpast added to cds and dvds allows the laser to read over the scratch but ive nevere tried it
if i were you what i would do is mod your xbox so you can store your games a hard drive
seoncd go to bloclbuster and rent halo two
and give them your copy when you return it
or go to a used game store and sell it

well u can buy a scratch remover from wal-mart or e-bay ( i prefer wal-mart) and the remover will remove the scratches and make ur disk good as new and make it work good as new.

you can spray it with hairspray, lightly. and then rub it in a little with a washcloth. then just dampen the washcloth and wipe the spray off. and then of course wipe the water off the disk with a soft cotton.

A computer tech told me to put a dab of hand lotion on it and wipe with a soft cloth.........it worked!
