Let x = total no. of apples
Therefore,

1/3x + 1/4x + 1/8x + 1/5x +10 + 1 = x

1/3x + 1/4x + 1/8x + 1/5x = x - 11

Now, we have to find a common denominator. Let's try 120.

40/120x + 30/120x + 15/120x + 24/120x = x - 11

109/120x = x - 11

Sorry, this just isn't working out. I think it is because I have x on both sides of the equation and I didn't think I'd get an oddball fraction like the above.

1/3x+1/4x+1/8x+1/5x+10+1=x

the x is the number of the apples in the basket.
in the end you'll resolve that x is equal to 120
I'm sorry if I couldn't help you!
