as long as you have final island, which you mentioned that you already have it, all you need is room in your group. remember, it's always just a CHANCE that you will recruit something when you beat it, so all you can do is try and try again.

as soon as you catch mew, you'll automatically leave the dungeon, so you won't need to worry about losing him in a fight or anything
