First, make sure all pieces are attached firmly to the base.
One of the most common reasons why it could be rattling if everything is apparently working fine is that the base is not exactly aligned firmly (parallel) with your ceiling. There are kits you could use or for a quick fix, you could apply some newspaper all around the base where it meets the ceiling. It's important to do it all around so as not to make it tilt. This should get rid of the rattling while you go out and buy your kit.

Make sure that all the fan parts are tight. If it still rattles it's probably out of balance. Try taping a quarter to the fan blade that looks like it is lower or higher than the rest. You may have to keep moving the quarter to find the correct spot.

Do you mean shaking back and forth? If so, if you recently purchased this fan it should have come with a balancing kit. Easily installed by reading the directions. If you don't have the original packing, you can probably purchase a balancing kit anywhere that you can purchase a ceiling fan.

Make sure all the fanblades are fastened securely to the fan, and that the fan is firmly mounted against the ceiling
You can fix an out of balance fan sometimes by putting a clothes pin on one of the blades if it is out of balance

Make sure all the blades are secured. Then, if it still rattles, it means one or two of them are lighter than the others. Just tape a quarter to the back of the lighter blade(s). I've done it and it works really well.

is it making noise or just out of balance (wabbles)?? If it's out of balance make sure all the screws/bolts that hold the blades are tight. then make sure the cover against the ceiling is tight also. Then by hand turn the blades and see which one is the most out balance. the blade that goes up is the lightest you can tape pennys to the top of this blade for now----turn the blades again--recheck add pennys to the blades that need them. When you have it balanced then glue them to the top of the blades with super glue...........

Only two reasons for that..
a) the bolts(small bolts) holding it to the ceiling fixture are loose..
b) it is NOT balanced.. that is those little things that come with the fan for purposes of balancing.

My guess is, one of the screws holding the glass cover over the bulb is loose. Tighten all those screws and I bet the rattle is gone. MM
