There are 6 cichlids about 1" long, so I thought of getting a pair of bala sharks 2.5-3", can they be good tank companions with cichlids?
Are they sensetive or hardy in nature? I've read about them much that they are bit tough, bu I require a suggestion from an experienced aquarist.

i'd say no.. territorial cichlids would likely eventually kill them. granted they are fast swimmers but may be doomed when the sharks try to catch some sleep.. and i'm pretty sure the danios wouldn't last..rule of thumb i learned was just cichlids with cichlids and depending on size of tank as to how many ..i'd recommend some gold severums...that all being said if your cichlids are very young & at 1" they are just babies..they may get used to the sharks before they become aggressively territorial, just make sure you have plenty of rocks/caves/tunnels for the cichlids

I like the Bala Sharks too, but it's best to ask how they would get along with Cichlids, because I think the Cichlids might be too agressive. I found that it's best just to keep Cichlids in a tank by themselves.

I don't know what size tank you have, but they do recommed at least a 55 gallon tank for Bala Sharks and that you have at least two of them.

My experience with African Cichlids is that they don't do well with any other type of fish. They even killed my Plecostomus and those things have armor! Generally speaking Cichlids seem to need plenty of room and lots of rock to create their "turf." The bigger the tank the better....

Bala sharks go well in an African Chichlid tank. I would not worry about them being difficult fish to take care of either. They are about the same as the Chichlids are.

you should have any worries with this community. both are hardy fish and the cichlids won't bother the sharks due to their size. keep in mind the ciclids will grow too. my only concern is the size of your tank. make sure that it large enough to support this community. good luck.
