white smog...mean the engine is going....

White smoke = water out the exhaust. If it does this upon start up but goes away then it is possible it is merely condensation in the exhaust system...normally caused from water in the gas.

It could also be a sign of something bigger getting ready to happen. My experience has been that if a head is cracked it may blow the white smoke upon start up but quit after warm as the metal expands...but this will get worse if it is this as the crack will get larger and eventually be too large for it to quit burning coolant out of the exhaust.

It is possible that you just have a bad head gasket...but doubtful as this normally only puts coolant either out the side of the head or in the engine oil.

If the weather has gotten colder then this could be normal emissions...I hope for your sake that is all it is.

Believe it or not, water is a by-product of combustion. Light a candle and hold a cold glass upside-down over the flame. You will notice the glass will become foggy for a few seconds. The same thing happens in your car. When it's cold (-20C), the water vapor only condenses after it is outside the tail pipe that you can see all the time. By the way, for every pound of gas the engine uses, it produces a pound of water.

Could be the start of a leaking head gasket. One the engine warms, it may expand to the point to tempoaraily seal itself. Once cooled down, the coolant seeps back into your exhaust or intake and blows out once you start the car. OR..... you are starting the engine on a cold morning which is normal. Good running engines produce water and it will sit in the muffleer and burn off when you 1st start the engine in the AM.

White smoke is water and usually indicates you have a minor leak in your head gasket.

Minor item... major repair. Good luck with that one buddy :-/

Might be cause it has gotten colder recently?

Called water vapor from when the car is first started and warmed up. Unseen during warm temperatures.

Could be a leaking head gasket and coolant is getting into the combustion chamber. lf it is,... the vapor coming out the exhaust will probably smell like hot coolant...kind of a sweet anti-freeze smell...

Hopefully it's something else.............
