My friend is going to get implants and I asked her if she had to replace them every few years...she didn't know and it was not something she had even asked her Dr.

I have had implants for a little over 5 years. I saw a plastic surgeon last week and had him check my implants and he said they felt like they were in great condition. When I got my implants my doctor told me that there are cases where the implants last 25 years and then there are cases when they only last 5 - 10 years. Each case is different and things happen, implants leak and have to be replaced. Actually, my implants (mentor) came with a warranty, really! However, the advice given to me by my surgeon was around the 8th year, start a savings account just in case.

they last on average 7-8 years. if you get a mammogram, car acdcident they can pop and you need to tell them before you have it done since they have to do other shots since they can misdignose breast cancer. have her look at this site www.fda.gov/cdrh/breastimplants/indexbip.html tell her also to look here www.brava.com its the only natural proven way to enlarge your breat and it works up to 2 cups !!

No they stay in place. They put a little air valve, like on tires, on the bottom of each breast and you just add more air if they leak down and lose pressure.
