I just happened to buy some chinese speakers for $14...they claim they can work with any music device including Ipod and they did they sounded ok ohhh but guess what???? when I disconnected them mi Ipod screen looked so bad it looked just as If the Ipod was screwed and It wouldnt work again!!!! but when I disconnected the speakers and replugged the regular Ipod headphones it was OK ...so i came to the conclusion that maybe on purpose Apple Computer wants us to buy only licensed accesories or something.....Has something like this happen to you???????? What do you think about this

Apple does want you to purchase only licensed accessories, but they don't "know" what's plugged in to the headphone jack. It would be very unlikely for your amplified speakers to damage your iPod.

Agree with the third answerer Nathan. Apple can detect whether you are a loyal customer through its software but I dont think they can do it through the hardware, it's all metal and plastic, you know.

And I heard a lot about people wrecking speakers by the amplifier or worst still the discman or MP3, usually with high volume, not the other way round.

hi decrease decrease back, as you suggested, you'll need an amplifier. optimal audio equipment require an amplifier, yet you would possibly want to truly hook it up on your stereo through a Y cable (headphone plug on one section & rca-pink&white- on the numerous) plug the RCA's into your imput on your stereo, plug into your ipod headphone jack on the ipod press play. you are able to also plug any computer audio equipment into your ipod, as they have a headphone plug too.

your external speakers, no matter how bad, cannot mess up your IPOD.
