My last period was 4 days late, really heavy, and only lasted 2 1/2 days instead of the usual 5. This one is currently 5 days late, but I have had the usual PMS migraine, sore breasts, and they have all been on time. It's just the actual friend that hasn't gotten here yet.
I am sexually active, but cannot be on the pill. I went off of it 8 months ago for health reasons. Any suggestions?

I can't be on any sort of hormonal birth control due to high stroke risk. I have stroke-like migraines.

I can relate. What worked for me, was learning to take about five minutes from each day

(starting at five because it wasnt easy for me to get into the schedule, but ideally 15 minutes is best)

And just relax...clear your mind and think of nothing...taking time for just you to be ...sounds incrediblly ridiculous...for me it did, I also was convinced I didnt have five minutes to spare...lol..

But even if you use your shower time. I personally had to dedicate for myself to take a nightly bath...that is how i klearned to relax and it works...steady stress and/or repressed stressed is what my period problem was...Also...if u are sexually active and not on the pill (i was also not able to be on pill)...use other sources of birth controlsee a doctor..

Pregnant? It is very possible even though you had your period once already. Either your body was adjusting or you had an early miscarriage. There are several different types of the pills, and it just takes trying different onces to find the right one.

Try other birth control, like the Depo shot. It's not for everyone, but it might help regulate, if not get rid of your period altogether. Just beware of possible weight-gain.
