There's a fantastic zoo in La Casa de Campo, if he likes animals... it has a zoo, aquarium, delphinarium and aviarium
There is also another animal park to the east of Madrid ( forget what it is called) It is just outside of Madrid on the N-II road (Road to Zaragoza).
There is a theme park:"Warner Bros. Park" in San Martín de la Vega, also just south east of Madrid.
There is El Parque del Retiro with a small lake in the centre where you can have a boat ride...
There are museums and monuments galore to visit, if you enjoy that type of thing. There are also several palaces... The Palacio Real in Madrid, El Escorial just north of the city, Aranjuez a half hours drive south...and several other smaller ones... There are also beautiful churches..
Take your pick...
And enjoy your stay in Madrid...It's a beautiful city!

The zoo-aquarium and "parque de atracciones" (amusement park) are close by underground. Warner Bros Park is half an hour away by train. You can get discounts for these places at Familycheck (only in spanish). In "El Retiro" park there are usually street puppet shows for kids (note that they would be only in Spanish).
