I am just wondering why when an African American uses the word n*gger it is acceptable in society's eyes, yet when a Caucasian uses the same word, even if it is not in a negative way, it is slander and abuse? I know people who have been jumped for using a simple word...Also when filling out job applications have you noticed that there is a box for African American, Native American, Hispanic and WHITE???? Why do I not have the same rights as a non Caucasian individual? Why am I white yet it doesn't say black, indian or mexican? My point is that society is actually more racist towards Caucasians than anyone yet you always here about how racist we are towards everyone else.

To further argue my case, when I went to submit this question the word n*gger was censored, yet when I use other slander...whitey, honkey, white trash, dune coon, cracker....none of these terms are censored.

It's acceptable because they've been doing it ever since us white folks ever called them that...
Likewise, society is not racist against whites.... To prove my point, ever seen a black president?
I agree that we are getting too politically correct. Instead of checking the white box, why don't you write other and fill in "human". Basically that's what we all are anyway.
Calling people names is just ignorant. A jerk is a jerk. It doesn't matter what they are. Likewise, we do have some nice little names for white people... Cracker, Trailer Trash and White Trash to name a few of them.
Calling somebody a "***" is just rude. Especially it they are a normal, everyday person.
Instead of spending your time worrying about whether or not it's racist to call somebody a "***" why don't you go out and read a couple of books about slavery and the holocaust. Then you will see why it's not acceptable to classify anybody as inferior because of their skin color or religious beliefs.
The bottom line is: Trash is trash is trash... Who cares what color it is!!

I really don't understand people's preoccupation with what people of a certain race call themselves. I am black and I have used the n word with my friends back in high school but I have since grown up and learned the history behind the word. People of a certain race sometimes use certain "derogatory" words amongst themselves to sort of discredit its previous meaning or purpose.
As for your argument that white people are being discriminated against, this does occur to some extent in some regions of the world. Caucasians control almost all of the world's resources, economy, military might, technology either directly or indirectly.
I am well traveled and have witnessed close Caucasian friends of mine being discriminated against in foreign countries, and they now better understand what I go through on a daily basis.
Humans of all races have a tendency to be racist or discriminatory towards others who are different than the norm. I recently read a study that stated the genetical differences between humans of differences races to be less than 2%. We are 98% equal, and we need to do a better job of celebrating our many similarities rather than our few differences.

What do you mean society is more racist toward caucasians? WHITE PEOPLE ARE THE SOCIETY. As far as the n word goes, no one should us it, white or black. The reason why white people are racist when they say it is because they were the ones that made it racist to begin with. If it were just a simple word it would not have been used to opprese people for years. And as far as the white, black, whatever thing goes, I agree. I think that all Americans should be classified as American, being as that's what we are.

Maybe Black folks feel that things should be reversed for a while.
They might feel that whites should be put down for a bit. Just a thought.
I can be almost 100% certain, though, that if there was a Caucasian TV channel, CET, there would be a lot of opposition from the black community. Same as if here was a White Miss America.

using the 'n' word is not racism. it's just rude. racism is when you believe that one race is inherently superior to another race.
only weak people get upset by the use of words and there a lot of weak people in this world.

When racists use ANY word to slander a minority, that word becomes offensive.
