As it has been proven time and time again, that a socialist system will not and worse, CANNOT work, why is the US (Lead by Democrats) running towards that way of governing things?
Strictly speaking, as a government of, for and by the people, when someone says that the "government" should do somethig, that person should do something!
Why is the sense of the government's duty turning towards a total dependence on said government?
How many of you have even read the Constitution of the Unied States?
I do not want a 'big brother'. I do not want the government telling anyone that they cannot smoke, for example. Allow the businesses decide if they wish to allow smoking and such. If they lose business revenues due to a smoker friendly environment, they will change.
Why should the workers be robbed and their hard earned money go to lazy or otherwise unwilling peole who choose not to work?
Or send that money to foreign gov'ts or institutions?

The hard workers do understand this. It's the lazy ones, with their hand out....reaching for 20 dollar bills. Guess what
GET A JOB Welfare shoud be eliminated except for handicapp.
IF you can breathe.....NO if you can stand and pufff on a cigarette..have beers with your friends....THEN GET YOUR LAZY BUTT TO WORK. IF YOU STARVE OH WELL....I am tired of supporting the losers....

People should work in order to have a decent life. Dependence on government must be a taboo. Benefits must only given in times of emergency just like what happened after Katrina.

yes iagreeto A POINT aslong as it is applied fairly and evenly and there is no corporate welfare either. Let everyone struggle and Im OK w it. But give special favors to congress and their buddy -pals-corporations and Im not on board w it.
