For things that matter to the turtle? Quite good. We know they build pretty good mental maps of their ranges, and retain these maps even after hibernation.
Other than that, it is difficult to measure the memory, IQ, etc. of a lot of species. It would be pretty safe, however, to assume they are about as good as a white rat's.

Pretty good, actually. My turtles know when their feeding time is (they scatter all over the tank when it's time) and they know that a green container with a yellow cap contains pellets; they even know which drawer their food comes out of (so if I open it to feed the fish, they'll think I'm feeding them).

I happen to think they have good memories. Our RES is 36 years old and seems pretty smart. I don't think he hears but we call him by slapping a hand on the floor and he will come running. we think it's the vibrations. He has favorite places to sleep in the house and will always go to those few spots. when i rearrange the furniture he will crawl over whatver stands in his way to get to his spot. He has his own blanket that occasionally gets thrown in the pile of people blankets but he only uses his(he crawls in the middle of it to sleep)

Mine knew the sound of my voice and their feeding times. Could have cared less when my ex was around but as soon as they heard my voice, they'd go nuts.
