open Internet explorer, click view click toolbars, uncheck yahoo.

or you could go to add and remove tools in the control panel and uninstall yahoo helper and yahoo toolbar, that's what i would do

completely erase all of yahoo from your computer.. then redownload yahoo.. and at one point in the dload process they ask if you want the toolbar dload as well.. uncheck this selection and then TA-da.. No toolbar.. You will not lose any info from your yahoo.. since it is all saved on the site.. so contacts will remain.. you will just have to reset your personal settings..

I'm not sure how to disable it i don't think you can but you can go to your control panel and click on add or remove programs and remove what you don't want that's what i did without any ill effects i couldn't handle all that crap on my screen. Hope this helps.
