Considering Jimmy Carter has won a Peace Prize and Stalin influenced a nation. Maybe it proves why farmers should be in power.

.It's difficult to fairly judge Jimmy Carter. He was president during the Iran hostage crisis which would have been very challenging for any president.
However, he had an impressive background w/ the Navy nuclear sub. program.
We must give him credit for helping to bring peace between Egypt and Israel.
Stalin was w/o compassion.
They were, however, very different kinds of farmer. Jimmy was very successful in his peanut farm; but I think he was too much of an idealist to be a good president.

If not, they are both certainly examples of the government having far too much scope & power. Stalin was the peak of evil; Carter wasn't as bad (obviously), but set my country back in many serious aspects. He may well have the blood of millions on his hands [in the future] for his prototypical appeasment policy, under Bubba, of North Korea. What a miserable SOB!
Oh well, toss him another Nobel Peace Prize.

You forgot George Washington:
George Washington Pioneer Farmer
George Washington played many different roles in the founding of our nation:Commander in Chief of the Revolutionary Army, first President , and leader of the Constitutional Convention to name but a few. And it is in these roles that we think of him today. However, if you were to ask him to describe his most important occupation, he would say quite simply that he was a farmer.
Just as he led his countrymen on the field of battle and in the executive office, Washington was a leader in the development of American agriculture. Washington's passion was his land. He enjoyed the challenge of cultivating crops and learning what techniques and tools worked best for growing things. The same calm determination he showed under fire was evident in his constant experimentation and efforts to improve the productivity of his four working farms.
