My pal needs to call his band Sinful Preacher, and that's a steel band, so that is setting up. in simple terms throw some stuff available.

stick with acronyms. Take the first letter of each bandmate's name and figure out something witty. If that doesn't add up, use the first letter of their pet's name, instrument's name(ie, gibson, fender, yamaha), make of car, favorite color......etc.....
