If you've been on the pill for that long, it could take at least three to six months before your natural cycle stabilizes.

I was on it for 6 years and got my period back immediately, and was pregnant by the next month. It could be right away, or it could take a couple of months. Usually the pill is out of your system within a couple of days. That's why if you miss 2 you are supposed to use alternative methods of birth control for a week.

For some people only three months, for others a couple of years. Most commonly though, it is about 6 months.
