American Woman, by the Guess Who, written and sung originally, I think, by Burton Cummings.
Good song. Guess Who had a few really catchy songs, then Cummings went solo. The rest, as they say, is non-history.
No Sugar Tonight, These Arms, other songs I can't remember at the moment. All pretty good.

Others are very correct as a Canadian band called Guess Who are the originaters of this classic tune called American Women. Seen them perform it life many, many moons ago and the live version rocked with them calling the ladies American Sluts, American Prostitutes, American Whores etc. At the time it was not meant to be derogitory of American Women as they are our next door neighbours. Think the song was actually about when they were touring in the USA and had ample opportunity to have their choice of women.

It was released by some urban ban in the late sixties, I thought it was CCR. The song is called "American Woman", re-released by Lenny Kravitz.
On the other hand Canadian woman, French woman, English woman, Native American woman, Polish woman, Chezch woman, Russian woman..... WWWHHHOOOO the hell CCCAAAARRREEESSSS. They're all mixed in in a melting pot in a America. The Mexican american do not want to be part of the melting pot, though.

American Woman; Lenny's remake was good enuf to stand against the oroginal which is something that you dont find in a lot of remakes or covers
