I don't know what to get.
Should I get speakers made just for the ipod? (ie: the bose sounddock ones)

or should I get a new stereo and then an iPod stereo cord?

And please be brand and model specific. I want to know what the best quality systems are because theres so many to choose from.

A stereo defeats the purpose of having an iPod....personally it depends on what you want to use your iPod for. Computer speakers work really well on the iPods and they are cheaper than the iPod speakers they are selling.

Personally, I'd go for the speakers. But thats just me. Based on how much space you have. A stereo is huge and bulky and only fits in certain places. The ipod speakers are small and you can pretty much put them everywhere. Also The sound quality can be just as good as a stereo. Also speakers (in most cases) are probably cheaper than A stereo. If you already have all your music on your ipod then you dont have to keep changing cds- another bonus. In the end it depends on what you think you'd prefer..but thats just my opinion. Good luck on whatever choice you make!

There are three main issues, which you need to prioritize for yourself.
1) Aesthetic Design (& size/space requirements)
2) Budget
3) Sound Quality.

There are stereo systems available that will sound much better that the 'off the rack' iPod-specific products. However, this will generally cost more, and not be as nifty for integrating the iPod. If you want the best sound from your iPod, visit an independent stereo dealer with your iPod in tow and ask for a demonstration. Know your options and have fun!

Stereo + iPod speaker cord. You can make the iPod sound alot better and go alot louder than with iPod speakers.
