Use the Pythagorean theorem. If 14^2 + 22^2 = 26^2, then it's right. If the sum is greater than 26^2, it's an obtuse triangle. If it's less than 26^2, it's acute.

Hi. For both of your problems, take the two smaller numbers, square them then add the squares together and write down your answer. Then square the largest number and right THAT down. If the second number is equal to the first it is a right triangle. ALWAYS. If the second number is less than the first it is an obtuse triangle, ALWAYS. If the second number is greater than the first it is an acute triangle, ALWAYS.

use law of cosines. from the law of sines, the angle opposite the 26 side will be the largest.
26^2=14^2+22^2-22*14cosy
676=196+484-308cosy
308cosy=196+484-676=4
cosy=4/308
y=arccos(4/308)=89 degrees
it is an acute triangle
