I recently noticed that my drapes had faded spots on them from the sun. Can I dye them myself(they are a light pink) or should I send them out somewhere? If I send them out, where? Will a dry cleaners know how to do it? they are linen drapes not silk.

I tried and the faded spots were lighter. Are they worth the expense? I feel no matter how you go about doing it, the faded areas will be a different shade. Sorry.

Natural fibers take dye very well. If you do dye them, you will still have variations in the color where they have faded. It is better to send them out because the process requires a large vat to contain the dye solution and and the drapes.

You probably could just dye them yourself although it would probably not be all that expensive to just buy new window treatments and would also be a lot less work. I'm sure you can catch a good sale somewhere and find something you really like!

your best bet is to stop being cheap and buy some new drapes
