the church has put a knew roof on his house,given him a car. firewood,fixed his water pump,and now are going to fix his house up.i have another friend who is homeless living out of his van with a dog.i asked the church to help him.they said they could not and told me to send him to the red cross.he is 60 yrs old and was crying today because he has helped so many people and when he is down and out nobody cares.what would you think of this situation

It's a lot of work taking care of a grandmother, and I doubt he's very rich on a social security check!

Great that the church is helping the one family.

As to the other man, of course it's sad if he needs help. The church may have its own unique criteria that it uses to evaluate who to help.

If you care about the man, why don't you help him by connecting him with resources that can help him?

Simple... The church is after the old lady's (his grand mother) estate and that's why! The church told you to take your other friend to the Red Cross simply because they see nothing gained from him! So play detective, if you feel like it, and start looking into the matter of your Church's motives! How's that for good Christian deeds?

I think it is terrible I think you should shame your church into helping him.

Call you senior services department in your town and see what they can do for him.
