I parked my car in front of their house (on a public street) and I would not move it when they told me I had to. They told me it is their parking space because it is in front of their house. When I told them I would not move my car becasue it is parked on a public street. This happened about a month ago and they are still egging my house and car, and throwing nasty notes in my yard ever since. I've called the police twice when they were standing at my front gate harrassing me, and the police came and talked to them, but said they really could not do anything unless I was injured or my property was damaged. The neighbors also put oil on my front steps (I think so I would slip). The police suggested a restraining order, but I cannot afford one. Help! What should I do?

Its kinda an unwriting law or rule I should say...everyone knows that you are supposed to park infront of your own house. There must be a good reason why you parked infront of theirs. Im going to assume that you have had minor problems with them before this. They dont seem like the Cleavers so I would consider moving if I am renting. Law enforcement dont have the time or resources to send a patrol out chasing rotten eggs so I dont think you will get much help in this situation. If you are buying the house then I would file a complaint down at the court house.

Call the police every time it happens. Eventually, the cops will have no choice but to issue a temporary no contact order. Also, they can ticket them for harassment! If it keeps up, it could lead to jail time. Isn't the egging damaging your property? It may not look like it, but minimally it will mess with the finish of your car and the paint on your house. The oil is a serious one as you could have been seriously injured by that one. Find out if there is a way in your city to get a free restraining order. Some places offer them if there is imminent danger. If they do not consider oil on steps that, I don't know what they think is.

Wait for them to damage something get a lawyer and take your neighbors to court. They aren't alowed to egg your car and house even if it dosen't do anything. It's still destruction of property.........
or you can take the kids way out and egg them back(Be carefull that could get u in trouble) They aren't alowed to write you nasty notes either `cause thats harrasment.

Hope this helped

Park it else where in on or around your property.

I restraining order should not cost that much. Do you have away of recording them damaging your car?

egg their house back or move. it is a public street. I really would take them to small claims court, although you will need proof. if the egg whites have damaged your car paint that is reason to sue right there.

Start of with motion sensor lights. Hopefully, this will scare them away. If not, add cameras.
