Maybe 8 hours or one day for them to reply. They're all busy doing TJ prep

When I create and send an e-mail, I just "put it out there" and that's it. I then forget it completely. There are so many variables. Sometimes people are offline or are having trouble on their end of things, or maybe they are out of town or busy or whatever. I find, however, and so may you, that there is a kind of regular rythmn that comes with the way replies will "come in..." and I have learned to more less accept that as the right pace. Sometimes people will write three and four e-mails to you in a kind of "burst" of activity, and then they will vanish for awhile. I do know how frustrating it is, however, when, under the circumstances of what is being discussed, you have to wait forever for someone to wake up and answer you. That is something in their own make-up, and was probably an issue long before they tackled writing, sending and receiving, e-mails. So many times I will be sitting here and the little thing goes off in the lowermost right hand corner of my desktop telling me I have mail that I just hop on over and see if a reply is appropriate. I value and cultivate all of my friends, so they are totally used to replies within about ten minutes. Almost always. But, boy, I know what you mean about having to wait! I even have one fellow in Austin, Texas, who keeps promising me he will write more often and you know exactly what that means, don't you? Same old, same old. I'm 63 years old, so I know what waiting for something to happen means. (Grocery lines, bank lines, buses, &c.)

Ah now theres a question how highly do you rate your standing amongst those friends you email? Do your emails contain rhetoric questions? if so how can you expect an answer at all.
Seriously it depends I often send emails to freinds and family at 2/3/4am obviously I don't expect immediate replies. Besides my family has the reputation of being extremely bad at keeping in touch - a card at christmas means you are remembered in a favourable light. Anything more frequent and you're on a roll!

Well mostly people would actually check their email when they get the chance and it might take a while for some one to reply becuase it depends when they get it and if you emailed someone and they reply back in time do the same to them.

It depends, if I am asking a question, I expect to be answered ASAP. But if I sent a "just trying to catch up" email, I don't expect a response until they have time. A week or two. I have one friend who has not returned email the last two or three times I sent one. (not jokes, but real how ya doing emails) so I am will not email or call her again. Until she takes the initiative. I don't have time in my life for one sided friendships.

ummm... I would expect an email reply in about 2-3 days. My advice is "relax", no one is trying to ignore you, unless they're trying to ignore you. just kidding.....Use a cell phone if you want instant communication, email is for things that can wait.
