If your looknig for scares/thrills/gore. Then you need Amityville Horror, Exorcist, Poltergeist, Halloween, Friday The 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw and Saw2,
If your looking for those non scary halloween movies. then you definately should pick up Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride,

anything very old as they are usually also funny. or ones called classics.. classic Frankenstein is great.those ketchup movies get old after awhile ..
big knife -blonde girl- bad guy- then ketchup all over the place..oh and screams..
make cupcakes let everyone decorate with black orange white and green can do a lot with just a few frosting colors.
dunk for apples in water..can be funny. warn everyone you'll do it first. go to a library get books on party games some of the old fashioned ideas turnout really fun and since they are old no one else has done them that you know.. so it'll be a hit! let friend help pick them is good too! .making popcorn balls or candy apples. figure out (be nice) ways to scare the kids who knock on your door for candy..

It depends on how scared you want to be and how sensitive you are to scariness...I always like Halloween and Halloween 2 (but NOT Halloween 3, that one sucked bad). Blair Witch Project is kind of creepy (to me at least). There's always Scream, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street...

The classics are always a winner (Dracula, Frakenstein) plenty of good choices um Amityville Horror, Friday the 13th (original and #2 after that they suck) and how about a halloween party (pin the hat on the witch, bobbing for apples, telling scary ghost stories) just use your imigination and go for it.
