I need to find directions on the internet. However, the yahoo directions and mapquest only show the shortest route. I'm traveling to Orlando and am not going to take I-4 because it's my first time driving there (I live about an hour away). Is there a site where I can choose what road to take?

I know it sounds like I know where I'm going and all, but I don't know where to turn once I reach Orlando to get to a certain place. :P

I'm a big fan of (1) google maps and (2) Microsoft's Streets and Trips (offline program).

Google is great because you can type in the address you're heading to and then see a satellite picture of your route. You can also easily get directions from your current location. I'm sold.

I bought the MS Streets and Trips program for $29 (without GPS receiver which would add another $100 or so). You load the simple program on your computer and then type in your details. What I like is that I can select which route to take. I've done three cross country trips with it and it's spot on accurate for timing and even downloads road construction info.

Hope this helps.
