I have seen gay republicans and recently I have seen many black republicans (and even gay black republicans). I have heard the reason for joining a party that doesn't want your kind is to give your "perspective" to the group. Frankly, I don NOT think this works. The only thing that happens is that they work with you to destroy the life of others like you. Its dumb.

Until recently the Republican party was more Libertarian, advocating for much smaller government. In recent years (about 12), they've allied themselves more fully with conservative, legalistic fundamentalists. However, traditional republicans are not so closed minded, and although they have plenty of reasons to fear for their well-being within their own party, if they want minimal government, they have some reason to be Republican.

I don't agree with it, but it takes all kinds to make a world.

I'm not real sure, considering that the party barely even acknowledges the Log Cabin sector, much less admits they're members of the same party.

it's always confused me...someone who's gay being a Repulbican (or Log Cabin Republican, as they call themselves)...
seems to make about as much sense as someone black wanting to be in the KKK, doesn't it?
