There should be two 13mm bolts fastening the starter to the transmission. One on the bottom will be a bolt. The one on the top should be a stud with a 15mm nut attaching a ground to it. If you have these removed, the starter should come out with a tap of the hammer.

check for more bolts behind there could be another hidding should be 3 or 2 then if all are removed take a block of wood an hammer to it and break it loose could be seized or if u have a small pry bar to hammer it in betwen the starter and housing but be very carful not to damage your flang this will not let the new starter seat right and might not line the gears up rite either so be very carful with this. hammer and wood first good luck

You meant that the bolt is stripped. There is a kit made by Irwin or Craftsman with various size counter sockets available in auto parts store. You place the correct size socket over the stripped bolt and tap it in with a hammer. Then using a wrench start rotating counter clockwise. The socket will bite deeper into the bolt as you turn the wrench causing it to unscrew. I've used this many times successfully.

Are you sure you removed the right bolts?? If so, just try giving the starter a tap with a small hammer. Maybe the starter is jammed in the flywheel or just been in there so long it has frozen itself to the block.
good luck........

my guess would be that you only removed 2 bolts...there is normally a 3rd one on the top of the starter which is hard to see...and it most likely comes in from the back side rather than from the starter side...look at the other side for this bolt...

if you are certain you have removed the correct bolts , the starter may be siezed , tap the starter with a hammer , wiggle it out and replace . your star wheel may be stuck in the out postion and is sized against the flywheel . hit it with a hammer and try an wiggle it out .
