lube is not necessary. i prefer a totally shaved penis----feels fantastic!

Although adding lubrication often also adds alot of sensation as well as adding to the sensitivity of the male member...

You don't "need" it; it's just closer to the feel of a woman when you use lube.
you can still masturbate without it, though.
