I recently had surgery and I have 4 surgical staples. I was not given any instructions on when to come back and have them removed. Am i supposed to see a doctor and get them removed? Can I remove them myself? If so, how?

NEVER try to remove them yourself - there's an actual tool needed.

Call your doctor and confirm that they aren't supposed to come out on their own (some do) if they're not supposed to, make an appointment to have them checked for one week after they were put in - they should be able to come out then.

The right things to do is to consult your doctor. Here is the reason, first doctor needs to know how his patients are and How good is the improvement after the surgery. When a doctor finds something wrong then he will take the immediate medical action to make it better.
Doctor will be very satisfied knowing that his patient is Ok after the surgery. It will give him more encouragement to help other patient. Don't ever remove them by yourself for you don't know well enough how to do it.
Anyway, what kind of surgery did you have recently?
Hope you are well now........
