I am supossed to do a project on the history of equations like who invented the system, in what year, city, what happened in the world at that time.... it's a project about the history of math and my group got the concept of equations.... I can use any kind of help.... thanks!!!!!

I think you will find the following link helpful. For instance, the Babylonians divided days into hours/minutes etc and that also formed the basis for their math. The ancient Chinese, Greeks etc had other ways.

I'm sure you will have more than enough material here.
