We're talking about the original Xbox, right?
If a game is available on both the Xbox and on the PS2, it will undoubtedly look better in the Xbox version unless the developers are totally incompetent. The Xbox has more power than the PS2. That's not a value judgment against PS2 or the games available for it, that's just a fact.
Sony has done as well as it has in the console market because they have the third party developers locked down. The PS2 has a wider number and selection of games than the Xbox, but it really comes down to what types of games you want to play.

Honestly I have played both and they are pretty equal. I do have to say that XBox has better graphics in RPGs and sports games than PS2...but everything else seems pretty similar

depends on how you are connecting the game to your tv. Xbox definitely if you have the equipment to support it. It does 1080i and PS2 can't touch that...now between 360 and ps3...if you want the prettier go with the $600 ps3
