Okay so I had sex, My periods after that were 3 days long and so light I could have worn 1 panty liner the whole entire 3 days. I have had 3 periods like that and one period that wasnt quite normal but not as light as the others. My last period was September 12th and I should have started already. I was on birthcontrol for a year, then a month after sex (3 1/2 to 4 weeks) I started getting nausea and vomitting, my boobs became very tender, I could not eat my certain favorite foods, and smells began to bother me, after a while it went away (10 weeks or so). I had never once thought about pregnancy until I started getting sick with food and smell. I took a few HPT and all were negative, I also went to the dr. she sent me home saying yes and no so be careful. So I waited until my period was late again, and I took another HPT that was positive, so again I tried another dr. and she urine tested me negative. I am yet once again late. Does anyone know why my periods are late and short?

sweety,

u need a blood test, u can go to any clinic and tell them what is going on. I am assuming that u might be a little on the young side, everything they do there is completly confidential and they can not tell any one... it is a law!

You need to go soon, go now, go right away......

there may some difficult choices for u right now, but, there is support out there, and the longer u put it off, the harder ur choices are going to be......

I had my daughter at 18....

we are a great family..... but u can not make choices unless u know what is happening

You didn't say what tests the Dr's have done other than the urine test. If they didn't do a blood test, then get one done. If you are pregnant, you need to be getting vitamins and pre natal care. Your symptoms sound like pregnancy but they could be a variety of other issues as well. Get tested. Good Luck

You are likely pregnant. Go back to the doctor fo a blood test to test for pregnancy or have the doctor do an ultrasound.
Good Luck

If it's been at least two weeks since a missed period, I would go back to your doctor and have a blood pregnancy test done as this is the most accurate way of testing. In my years of experience hpt's are well known to be inaccurate, and the digital ones that have been out also have issues with giving true results. Other reasons for period abnormalities include stress, weight gain/loss, thyroid, hormonal imbalance, infection, illness, medications, polyp, cyst, amongst other reasons. If the blood test comes back negative, your doctor should do further testing to determine what the exact cause may be.

I suggest going to a DIFFERENT doctor and explaining what's happening. Tell them that your other doctor gave you two urine tests but didn't give you the information you need or any other suggestions, and you've heard that a blood test may be in order.
