The Q was tongue-in-cheek humour, but it has some truth to it. I suffered from sleeplessnes for 25 yrs - my family doctor wouldn't resort to less mainstream methods. A friend's suggestion greatly solved my problem. I suffered back pain for 10 years before my brother recommended chiropractic care. Later, I looked into physiotherapy - I decided I could do it all on my own, and I prefer not to be a burden. I had a urinary problem. Trying to join the armed forces - they infuenced my doctor to refer me to a urologist. My brother tried to do without out medication for 6 mos. (doctors advice). All that time he felt so bad that he wished he was dead. The doctor told him to tough it out. I don't believe that doctors are equal partners woth God - far from it. And they could be very much better. You would change mechanics if you had a poor one - you car is that important to you. Doctor's are basically all taught the same and don't deviate from it. My brother is more important to me than a car.

A little more clarification here - I am refering mostly to general practitioners. Obviously, specialists are not going to defame their own professions. But where I live you need to be refered to specialists by your family doctor. A couple more things here. I had a problem of excess saliva recently. I did my own research and had an ides with the problem was. I made an appointment with my family doctor, but all he did was berate me for not keeping a list of medication on me. I knew the names of the medication and the colour of the pills, which is all he needed to look it up. Eveantaully he did - it took 5 minutes. I was so flustered, I forget to remind him of my problem. I solved it myself - I was taking amitritylene and one of the side effects was a dry mouth. I had reduced the dosage.I figured the body had compensated for the medication an needed to to compensate again for the the reduction. I was right. Presently, my brother is trying to solve a problem...with a new family doctor.

God made the human brain "in the beginning". He gave some of us more savvy than others, which is self-evident by this type of question you presented. Evolution has removed the existence of God or a higher power out of our belief systems. This in turn, has left us with doctors with zero or no God in the picture. Therefore, you are in trouble because of any doctor working on you would be a God-less sadist, as you imply !

Why would you say this? Doctors help people, or at least many of them do or try to. But doesn't God also work through germs too? After all, he created them and everything else, right? So He works through doctors, germs, and even insects, if you believe that God works.
