Javier...I prefer it for a few reasons.
One: no one will mispronounce Javier, if they have even a basic knowledge of names....Xavier could cause confusion. I look at it, and immediately think "Ha-Vee-Air", but I also spent a lot of time in Spain. Other people will look at it and think "Ex-Ay-Vee-Er". I prefer names that can't be pronounced more than one way.
Two: Xavier is "trendy". Since 1979, it has steadily climbed on the popularity list, from 511 to 87. And it's only going to get worse...names with "x", "z", "q" are becoming uber-popular. I'm not one for trendy names, but that's my personal preference.
Third, Javier just has better conotations in my mind. I see Xavier and think "trendy, snobbish, probably has WASP parents". Javier makes me think "friendly, warm, probably a lot of fun"
And, fourth, I had a crush on Javy Lopez (the former catcher for the Braves). So, that's colored my view on the name :-)

I like Javier better. Xavier is tough for people to pronounce if they don't already know the name. And Xavier reminds me of Cabbage Patch kids, as that it the name that is printed on their butts.

Xavier the letter X is not to often used in a name.

Javier I guess....and if I had to choose the other one I would write it Saviour not Xavier.

unless u r Spanish Javier is good but I'm Spanish and i think Xavier is nicer
