I am participating in a class on religion conflict management. I must begin the class with a ritual involving mediation. Anyone out there have any good ideas? Past examples range from tribal rituals to youth group ice breakers.

Thanks!

Yes! try, first, the mindfulness of breathing. Get your students to pinch the bridge of their nose, breathe in to the slow count of four and concentrate on where the air hits the bridge. Then out through the mouth to the same count. Try this four times then increase the count to 6, repeat and then 8 then 10. When they have got this down pat, after a couple of sessions try therMeta Bhiravana. This is a technique that uses the M.o.B but ask them to think of, in this oreder, someone they love, someone they like, someone they haven't thought of in a long time, someone they disliake and someone they hate. They must send positive thoughts to these people. It ******* works a treat and will make them more tolerant people.

Buy "Getting in the Gap" by Wayne Dyer. There is a CD inside the little book.
