Is brainwashing to blame for hate groups, are they just all people who cannot think on their own, or do these groups provide a medium where sick depraived people can find each other and do pathetic things in order to boost themselves up?

weeareallbeaggars, I agree with what you said, I think you misunderstood, I do not hate these people but there are in fact sick and depraved people in the world who do pathetic THINGS they are not necessarily pathetic people, also brainwashing is a reality that does occur most often in people who are unable to think completely on their own, this is not entirely uncommon for any one of us as we all depend on other peoples opinions to some extent. I suppose as this is an issue close to my heart I came across as harsh when it was not my intent to do so, I am sorry if I insulted you or your beliefs.

I think most of the things that happen like this are feer driven. I think hate is a reaction to fear. I think that it is programmed into us from when we were primitve little creatures being preyed on by fearsome beasts. You see troops of monkeys doing the same thing today. Monkeys and baboons will group up and chatter and screach at a jaguar or cheeta until they have worked themselves to a frenzy and attack en mass to tear it apart. A perfect and useful fear response. When people are afraid for their jobs, or of the government or of foreign threats then they start to do the ame thing. If they have no target then they makeone up. If Baboons start with fear of a cat and lose track of it or it leaves sometimes they just keep building the mob up with the fear building on itself. They sometimes turn on a shrub and destroy it, they sometimes turn on a member of their own troop and tear him apart.

Yes. We are not born with an instinct to hate. Hate is socially constructed. Brainwashing is when you stop to think for yourself and believe as truth what is told to you. By your parents or by a man on a pulpit, it's the same thing: emulation of thought instead of independent thought.

Being gay is not a matter of choice. Hating is a matter of choice. For example, take a particular Christian church, say that they spend their entire efforts towards abolishing gay marriage instead of, for example, feeding the poor, helping senior citizens get medicine, finding winter jackets for poor kids, and planting trees. It's about choices related to priorities. Love would be another example.

They definately have a mental illness that's for sure. I'm sure if they were put on the right meds they would act more civil. They just find people who think like they do and move around in little clans...I don't let them rent space in my head.

I agree with a lot of what the previous posts have to say. My addition would be that people who hate others usually are angry people and/or are self-hating in some way.
