I bought a bottom box that needs new paint and since my roadchest is fading I thought I would redo it too. I cannot find any snap-on red to do either on except touch up paint which is not nearly enough

BEFORE you do any of these, you need to know what the metal is. Aluminum, steel etc. Aluminum may become scratched by running a wirebrush over it or sandblasting it might dull it. Dulled is OK if you are painting it because it will cover that and also might open up the surface a little to allow more paint to adhere.

the least expensive way is to find an unfaded paint chip on the box.. usually on the bottom, take it to a hardware store and have them scan and mix to match the colour... be sure to buy the right style of paint ie. enamel..

look in the Snap-On catalog or ask the local rep. You can always try Sears paint for their boxes.

They are just Toolboxes! Don't worry about the way they look. If you are buy new ones. I wouldn't bother painting them.
