Not lonely exactly, but after a short while on the net I feel the need to be with 'real' people again.

It all depends if you use the Internet to reach out to people or just to get information on many issues: politics, music, social issues. If you want the Internet so as to improve your social life, I think you are knocking on the wrong door. Get out there. There is so much to do.

Yes, it's a big illusion.
Better to get out of the house, go to some place where there are real people, whom you can see that they are not masquerading as someone else.
