I am white Christian but have been around Hindus and Indian culture since childhood, as I was trained in classical Carnatic Music from a young age.

Many of my Hindu friends' parents have strong views on Muslims. Some of them had bad experiences growing up in the Punjab, with Muslims attacking worshippers at temples etc and many of them left India for this reason. Even my music teacher used to "go off on one" about Muslims occasionally.

Is this common? Do any other British Hindus have family members who feel this way? A friend's dad who left Punjab because of the violence shakes his head when he reads things like 7/7 and says "I told you so". He really seems to dislike muslims.

i totally agree we have had sikhs here and hindus and the muslims have done as much to them as they have done to us.
we never get problems from sikhs i think the last time was the turban for motocycles and that to us was more funny than anything else but these muslims their out to destroy all infidels and convert everyone to islam by force if neccesary hence they have ahatred of anything american english or anyone that does not fit their way of life and i for one would never follow a religion that preaches death to everyone no thanks you can keep that in your own country not mine.and notice i said mine.

I am a born and bred "BRIT" as were my forebears and in fact, on my fathers side we have traced traced ancestors back to the year1610 - and there is more to come.
WHY CAN WE NOT NOW ALL BE "BRITS" AND LIVE IN PEACE WITH RESPECT FOR EACH OTHERS BELIEFS AND RELIGIOUS VIEWS !
Some forty or fifty years ago following the end of World War II and at a time when there were very few non-whites in Gt Britain, there was similar questions being asked about an influx of Southern Irish workers and their families !
We really must all learn to integrate with each other now because it is inevitable we will all have done so sometime in the next ten to twenty years. If by chance we have not by then reached that stage, there will be no point or advantage in being British.

I am a Christian but married a Hindu. We never had an argument over religion. We have Muslims friends who get on well with us. It is not the religion, it is individual who think they are better than the other. I wish people do not bring religion into their problems.

Before I was born there was a gouvernment in Germany that one may call terrorist. I am not sure but I do not think that Hitler and his followers were muslims. Most of them were not even immigrants but born in Germany (not Hitler of course, he was an immigrant), whereas most Jews were Germans, whose families had settled in Germany centuries ago.
You better get real. And don't watch so much CNN or Fox. If they had it their way, the Church of England would by the only catholic one and we did not have a proper Pope, but a Queen. Just like Freddie Murphy...

The muslims are the only religion that advocates that other religions should be wiped out and sharia law be imposed on all of us. The Hindu is a peacefull religion and they have had problems in India with the muslims, the same as the other religions have had. As they say not all muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists seem to be muslim. I rest my case.

I am muslim and I agree that a lot of Muslims have a lot of pride...but please dont believe that Islam has anything to do with this. Islam teaches to mix with other cultures. Don't judge Islam by Muslims, because not one Muslim is living by the word of the Quran today. Muslims are supposed to be humble, simple, friendly, and tolerant and you find very few muslims who dont have pride.

honestly, i am tired of muslims, they are very quarrelsome and complain about their rights when they are not ready to co-operate they believe in take take take and do not know what it is to give. i used to feel sorry for their women but i don't any more cos they are as bad as their men if not worse, i think Hindus and other Arab religions are ok. i think the British govt is too lenient and tolerates them too much, that why they take Britain a lot for granted, they cannot try alot of things they do here in America.

it is very common. hindus, like christians, are taught to respect and tolerate other cultures. i don't think it mentions that in the Koran.
