There are two ways you can go.

1. Learn it yourself. Download Dreamweaver and start messing around. Thats how I learned! It will take a lot of time and you'll be frustrated a lot. or...

2. Pay someone to do it. It will cost a lot of money, but you'll have a very professional looking site. Try this: http://design.bluehost.com or this http://haywardwebdesign.com

Good luck whatever you choose.

begin by creating your website....get a webhost (with php and mysql recommended for large and to be able to add content and user sign-ups etc you need a server side script like php) and buy a domain.... if you need one try http://imrgoodbuy.co.uk/go/1and1 1and1.

you will then need to develop a website (u shd have at least some knowledge in php and mysql if you want to develop your own). you can use a free CMS to do most of the work for you....though u'd have to develop some modules, etc.

once your website is up you need VISITORS so you need marketing and to promote your website....so long as your website is useful and hav something that people would come back to look at you should be successful.

IT'S NOT AS SIMPLE AS IT SOUNDS! you need to learn and that takes more than what's listed here. plus, you don't learn overnight it takes years.

in case you were wondering i have developed several websites..... http://imrgoodbuy.co.uk/ that's one of them and another example http://cooldealsonline.googlepages.com/ugpcl.htm and others.

I own several websites and I created one to inform people like yourself who want to build nice and inexpensive professional websites. Check out www.excelyourbiz.com, they give you a step by step instruction on how to build your own website and you dont need to be a computer whiz to do so, just have some basic computer knowledge.

Get a good book. No one is going to freely advise you on how to build a website. That takes a lot of time....a lot!

Oterhwise, hire someone.

get the high school kid next door to you in your house on your block on the darkness on the edge of town within the city limits and out side through the back door.
