WOW isnt that like 16 years ago... during and around Grunge and a little after.. Arnt GOTHS the kids of the punks ... I honestly thought that .. they werent still dressing like that .. It wasnt meant to be main stream it was a rebellion against fashion .. like the end of the 80s -90s .. well I guess kids are still dressing that way .. look at all the halloween costumes this year... they are all some goth fairy or goth ballerinia or goth fallen angel .... weird but i think that kids stopped doing that because they out grew it ...goth was like years ago ... wow i would have thought something new would be thought of...

I am not sure I have ever known any people who are "goth" but I am sure that there are such people who are good and kind just as there are among other "types" of people/groups.

I will admit that I don't personally find their dress/style appealing to me but they have the right to dress as they choose to and people should respect that right.

As for those who happen to be "goth" and have been violent etc., again they are no worse than violent "non-goths".

Goth..prep..everyone conforms to something. They just conform to deviation from social norm.

People might think that they hate conformity but conform anyway due to "similar hatred to conformity." However, how does this differ from other people that conform to a certrain dress code or clique. Only that they are hypocrits to themselves, some would say.

However, I dont see how that is any worse than following social norms without questioning them (like the need to wear make up).

Most are posers just wanting attention. Some say they are trying to express themselves and be individuals. Are you really an individual surrounded by other people in black? That is just blending in with the crowd. Everyone conforms, even "goths."

Depends. I love my daughter to pieces and her boyfriend. Some goths look very scarey and are totally unapproachable. To each their own though.

goths big motto is "fight conformity" but what happens when all goths dress the same way? they CONFORM to each other. i think they just need to reexamine their selves and maybe get on a better, happier path through life
