preferably a site or store i can order from

i dont want to spend anymore than $150 so if you know any other metals that make just as good electrodes please suggest them

Platinum is about the most expensive stuff you can use. If you are using a Nickle-Hydrogen cell, you may need it.

Gold is an excellent conductor and is fairly non-reactive. It is expensive, but cheaper than platinum.

Silver and copper are excellent conductors, but you should pick something that will not dissolve in whatever solution you are using.

Try zinc. That is what I used for the same experiment. You can find zinc pretty cheap.
