4.5 x 10 raised to the power 1

In scientific notation, the 1st part of the number (4.5 in this case)
is always greater than or equal to 1, but less than 10. Second part of the number is always 10 raised to some power.

Example: 495 in scientific notation is 4.95 x 10 raised to the 2nd power (100).
