Does a senator from Iowa commit treason by accepting money from other states?

2006-10-15 11:43:55 · 8 answers · asked by Anonymous in Politics & Government Elections

Each state is a seperate government. Any outsider of a state may be an enemy. Each state has treason defined in their constitution. I view anyone who is not an Iowan, giving money to an Iowan senator, to be my enemy. This enemy is conducting war by trying to shift the allegance of the senator. Why else is this enemy paying off the senator? Only the people represented by the senator may bribe the senator... Anyone else is the enemy.

So China influencing Washington DC is alright...the politicians who accept payoffs from China are not traitors...traitors to democracy?

If we allow indiscrimant donations of money, why not just let anyone and everyone vote in any election? Why not vote twice or more? Money is a form of voting. We do it all the time at stores.

US Constitution, Article 3, Section 3: Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving the Aid and Comfort.

I don't know if accepting money from other states is legal, but it is not treason.

If it was treason every scumbag piece of **** politician in that cess pool DC would be guilty! Those scumbags write the laws and as of now nothing (yep nothing) they do is a punishable offense (at least they think that). Let us hope and pray that the bush Reich is overthrown and America returns to a Democracy!

No. It's not illegal but it's not always a secret either since the Federal Election Commission records all receipts from individuals who contribute over $200. Also, please read the definitions of treason that have already been given to you in previous answers.

In addition, it is not unusual for candidates to receive campaign donations from persons who are not residents of their district. This info is not a secret. Here, you can look for donors from one state who contribute to candidates from other states:

This link permits the user to look up donors by name:

And here you can look up donors by ZIP:
