Yes, it could possibly harm the baby - IF you keep taking them. My doctor told me not to worry too much about anything that I did before I got pregnant. I smoked during the first few weeks, and most likely had a drink or two. I also took all of my medication for anxiety, allergies, and asthma during those first few weeks as well. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my son. He had an almost perfect apgar score, and I haven't had a problem with him at all! So don't worry about it hun. You can discuss it with your doctor when you go in for a check-up, but most likely he/she will tell you that it's perfectly fine. Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!!

Your medication has a package insert in it. It has a pregnancy category code. Either A,B,C, or X. That will tell you the risks in continuing the medications while pregnant.

No matter what, call the doctor and get his permission to stay on the sleeping pills. If he advises against the sleeping pills ask him for a recommendation for something else you can take. Perhaps there is an alternative that is less risky for the baby.

my doctor when i first found out i was pregnant gave me a paper of things that are safe to use during pregnancy and for sleep aids it said tylenol pm is okay. but just make sure to ask your doctor other then that i have heard that other sleep aids arn't safe. and with the baby not moving there are time where the baby will have its lazy periods where you wont feel him or move for the whole day. if its consistant meaning happening where for a few days in a row you don't feel him move. then their might be a concern there. either way any worries you have you should tell the doctor so they can at least tell you everything is fine.

yes, any pills not okayed by your doctor since your pregnency discovery can be harmful. on the up side most people dont realize they are pregnant until thier 3rd month pregnant and they smoke drink and take other drugs their kids all truned out fine. if i remember corecctly my doctor told me that its fine because the embyro hasn't started to developeing rapid yet so what is done in the first three months is okay.

it depends on what the pill is. I took Trazadone for the first three months. The pharmasist is the one to ask. But both my doctor and the pharmasist told me that in the first trimester studys showed that Trazadone had no negative effects on the fetus. It depends on that you are taking.

When you are pregnant, you should not be taking any type of medication, pills nothing at all. You are putting your baby at risks of having a birth defect..

i wouldn't take anything without consulting the Dr first, especially being pregnant because it can most definately cause problems like birth defects.
if u are having trouble sleeping, go to your local Dr and ask if there are any safe remedies to use while pregnant he/she will help u out.

Best to ask your doctor. I was actually told by my doctor to take Unisom, which is a type of sleep aid, to help with my morning sickness. Of course it made me tired too.

most doctors will tell you not to worry about anything you did or ingested before you knew you were pregnant. Thats almost impossible, but almost all doctors I know tell you not to worry. I drank before I knew I was pregnant, my doctor barely batted on eyelash
