How can conservatives possibly with a straight face buy into the spin that questioning or diagreeing with your govt's actions is unpatriotic when that was one of the foundations of this country and is in fact one of the main freedoms that our troops are fighting to protect at this very moment?

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, 'right' or 'wrong', is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
- Theodore Roosevelt.
Very wise words.

It is not only a right but a responsibility. How Else are we to keep the government straight. Only a fool wood think any government is perfect, Even the worlds best can be improved. We have plenty of problems that need to be corrected. No party has a monopoly on right & wrong.

How pray tell is burning the American flag unpatriotic? Can you not grasp the simple concept of freedom of speech? No one is asking YOU to burn a flag. Chill out.

Not unpatriotic to disagree with your government. We see what corruption ensues when government is allowed to rule without a leash.
We also are beginning to see how much respect our leaders give to those who fight to protect us, past and present.

It's not disagreement that is the problem, it is the active giving of aid and comfort to the enemy that is the problem. Trashing the president... calling him a liar, stupid, incompetent or worse is not helpful dialog or disagreement. You may have the "right" to say those things, but that doesn't mean that you should. And the same rights that you claim are given to those that call you unpatriotic. It works both ways in this country.

It's a cliche that has been used since I don't know when.
People against former president Fujimori (Peru) were communists, agitators, old politician's followers, "special terrorists" (like "islamofascists"). Fujimori ran away and quits by sending a fax.
Powder was already invented, you know.

It is never unpatriotic to disagree with your Government, but when you Libs lie and distort the facts that's when you get called to account for your transgressions. Got it Lib!

To disagree for the sake of disagreement is unpatriotic, if you have legitimate concerns it's a different matter.

Agreed, to a point, and put the way you do in your question...
But when the troops are putting it all on the line, maybe we should consider a little common decency in the mode of debate...
Never before in all of the history of the world has our information been broadcast as quickly and as broadly as now...
Just be cognizant of who else is reading and what they are doing with it, is that too much to ask?
