The filters for your furnace will be found just before the fan that blows the air up thru the plenum. Find the cold air return side and where it hooks to the furnace there should be a slot or a door, behind which will lurk the air filters. Good luck.

there are a couple of places they could be, 1 is in the cold air return, 2nd if you open the cold air return and don't see it sitting there and the air return is mounted right over or under the furnace look up in there to see if you can get to it, 3rd some furnaces have a pull out tray where the filter is mounted. 4th i've even seen some furnaces especially on the older ones where you have to actually pull the top up to replace it(pain in the a#*)
If you have the manual look in there to see if it shows you where it might be, or get ahold of the furnace manufacture to find out.

The filter should be on your cold air return. Look on your duct work, if you don't see it, open the panel to your furnace. It could be just inside the panel.
