when we are 18 we feel like adults, yet when we are 25 we look at 18 year olds as children. when we are 25 we feel all grown up, yet when we're 40 we look at 25 year olds as adolescents. obviously age brings more experience... but why is it so hard to keep relating to people younger than you? why do we feel worlds apart?

Because you are worlds apart .
The singers and bands you may have liked are gone, the dances have changed, the in words have changed .
But you can still relate to them you just can't expect to be one of them .
Have a great day .

I don't find it hard to relate to people younger than me unless they get disrespectful to me because of my age. When that happens I pull away from them and let them think what they want. I don't have anything to proove either way. If we respect each other no matter what our age is life is better.

because as you get older you go through so much, and learn so much that you forget how you thought and acted back then. i think you just need to try to think about how you felt and what you did at that age in order to relate- but most of us forget at some point what we were like at that age.

age and life experience. Older people are less pretentious, they have seen more ups and downs , just lived more and know they don't know it all, unlike the gen xers, and echos who think they're far more knowledgable and sophisticated.
