Bcause, if you shut down the Falcon Running game (which the NY team did today, accept for a 90yrd run, take that 90yarder away and they, the falcons, had 133 for game), but no run and he becomes useless as a player, because he cant throw the ball with anykind of consistant accuracy.

Anonymous, Vick doesnt have great receivers, i agree.. but i watched that game today, as i have watched DOZENS of his other games, and i am sick of him throwing behind his recievers or just overthrowing them period.... he cant throw the football... and in the NFL if you cant do both atleast decently, throw AND run.. yer dead... and the Falcons will never win a Superbowl with him at QB unless he learns to be a thrower FIRSTand a scrambler (to find a target) second, and a runner THIRD.

YOu guys who keep talking about his running yards dont get it...AT ALL. HE IS A QUARTERBACK!!!! by definition his first option should always be pass. He is going to get killed! omg, today one of the NY libebackers hit him late out of bounds, BECAUSE he was running with the ball. He took seven sacks today, sum punishing hits with them, because he refused to let go of the ball...and that speaks to his confidence throwing it. You cant tell me he had noone to throw to because the Giants Secondary is one of worst in league LOL. I just wish sumone in offseason would take him sumwhere and just devoted the entire off season to him throwing, his legs will always be there, but educate him on PASSING for the love of god!!

I with you, the only reason he gets time on ESPN, or the News is because he can run. Take his running ability away, his stats show like a backup. he is clearly over rated maybe the most over rated player in the NFL today.

I think he is very overrated too. He thinks way to positive with his running game. Besides hes nice run to today, ur right he will get killed. Remember when he broke hes leg? Seven Sacks..pfhh thts a joke. He should just give the ball to the best runner on the team, Warrick Dunn!

i dont think he is overrated....i think that ny just sleeps through the first half of every game and then they play for their lives in the second half....but i do agree with you that if you take the falcons running game away then there not the same team but i got 2 things to say........first of all different teams have different strenghts...if you take away the eagles passing game then there useless...if you take away the colts passing game there useless.......if you take away the bears defense they would probably finish 0-16 every season except this season and 1980.......if you take away the cheifs running game you got nothing..........the falcons strength is there running game so its hard for them do do anything if they have none just like when the pats shut down the colts passing game they lose in the playoffs..........secondly if you think vick isnt a factor then go back in falcons history and see their record when he was injured in the season and couldnt come back it was like 4-12 or something.......true mike vick isnt the most consistent and accurate passer in the league but he doenst have any receivers besides crumpler.......and most of the times he wins games which is most important

he is not being used to his full potential. i never understood this. if he is a running quarterback, why try to stop him from doing that? develop a system around him and have him run the ball. everyone thinks that because he is in the nfl, he must now learn to pass. NO, NO, NO. he wont become a better passer if he hasnt by now. play to his strengths and athelticism and use him as another running back

I don't think he's overrated at all. Sure, he doesn't have good passing numbers, but he is exceptionally dangerous because of his ability to run. Opposing defenses have an extremely hard time trying to defend him.

He's very over rated! At his rate, he won't last another 6 seasons by just running and not passing.
